So far, after a couple preseason games and one big Sunday night opener, the Levi's experience sucks ass. Here's a few reasons why:
1. Parking Lots open 4 hours before gametime. This really kills the tailgate experience for the the true fans. We were at Blue Lot 1 at 12 Noon and there was a backup of thousands of cars cluttering the Santa Clara Streets. it was a mess. they decided to open the gates an hour later, and then it was a clusterfuck to get inside the 2 open gates. Let's do the math...1000's of cars, 2 open gates = hours waiting to get in.
2. The newjack-ass fans - San Jose and Silicon valley ass fans who are new to this shit. Never went to Candlestick, and aren't really into the games. Making no noise, wandering around the concourse during the game and not watching, ordering curry bowls and shit...pathetic.
3. The heat and lack of shade - Good job Jed. Even for the night game temperatures were around 80 at kickoff and there's no damn shade and waters are $5.75.
4. Getting out after the game. If you don't leave early you're fucked. People waiting 2-3 hours to get out of Blue Lot 1, that got home around 1am. No signage, parking attendants with no fucking clue, drunk ass San Jose fans. What a joke. Getting out is just as important as getting in (that's what she said). Work that shit out idiots.
5. Food selection sucks. If I want a grey ass burger, I'll go to AM/PM mini market. Not to mention the aforementioned burger is like $9. It ain't even angus son!
Lot's of this shit ain't even fixable. My fellow tailgaters and long time fans are questioning whether paying $5k for a license, $40 for parking, $9 for a fucking hot dog, and having to sit through new jack-ass fans is even worth it.....what now Jed? Oh yeah - a team that blows a huge lead over a shit team. What a shitty Sunday night opener, in so many ways.

ReplyDeleteCandlestick was a shithole, but we knew what we were getting into and liked it. The non-tailgating and parking/logisitcs is just wrong on so many levels. There were secret entrances to candlestick where the chosen few could skirt through a few side streets and get to the 101 in record time. I haven't been to Levi's yet, but don't really plan to at this point since 4 tickets & parking are a mortgage payment. Congratulations San Jose, you finally got a real outdoor sports stadium and now we know why it took so long.
ReplyDeleteMy sentiments exactly! I have Yelped about this and also sent Jed the same message. We were in Green Lot 2. I was ready to get arrested if the police didn't open another access out of our lot since Tasman was COMPLETELY OPEN. It is 7 days later and I'm still mad about that. Our section 126 was actually quite loud and we are blessed to have about the only shade in the stadium. Still the parking so awful that I don't care if I ever go back.
